more marathon than sprint
It's been a while since I've written here, simply because nothing has really been different. It seems as though we've settled into a groove, at least for now. The initial surge of change and emotional response has passed, and the battle is now fought in persevering through the daily grind. I usually wake up feeling great and start feeling tired and weird around noon. I've learned that if I take a little time to rest in the afternoon, I make it through the day just fine. As much as I would like to ignore it, the emotional side of the equation is still a significant part of the journey, and we continue to need to spend time processing things as a family. But we are also mindful that things are so much better for us than they are for many others, and we feel unbelievably humbled by the continued outpouring of love and support. I recently was telling someone that I feel way more loved than I deserve, and he pointed out that now I might have a little better glimpse of God's love for me. Wow - humbling! I wish everyone could glimpse God's love for them like that...

Jack, our five year old, and I have been asking God why people get cancer and if He would "take it away" from daddy's friend, "Atom".

ReplyDeleteI send you greetings and blessings in the powerful and gentle name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. I pray this posting finds you with your eyes fasted on God for deliverance and sufficiency. The believers in Houston, Texas and around the state and country are praying for your complete healing and peace of mind.
"Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6 and 7
Oftentimes, people accuse God of causing sickness and death. When in reality sickness and death are caused by the devil.
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." Hebrews 2:14
Mistakenly, at funerals Psalm 116:15 is quoted to indicate that God considers the death of a saint precious: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
The words in the Scriptures must be understood in light of their Biblical meaning, at the time they were written; rather than contemporary meanings. The word "precious" means costly. That is why rubies, diamonds, etc. are called precious stones. --- "Costly" in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.--- Once a believer has died, he can no longer worship or work for God; therefore his death is costly for God. Death is an enemy not a friend.
"The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." I Corinthians 15:26
Adam the accomplished work of Jesus Christ has made healing available to all who believe:
"Who his own self [Jesus Christ] bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes we were healed." I Peter 2:24
Healing is also available in partaking of communion, but partaking in communion without believing will not yield healing.
"Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateh and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak ans sickly among you, and many sleep." I Corinthians 11:27-30
Interestingly, in the next chapter of I Corinthians, the manifestation of the spirit are listed; which include gifts of healing. I Corinthians 12:9
Finaly, Jesus Christ gave the following commandment to his disciples:
"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give." Matthew 10:8
Adam, I have been working closely with your uncle Craig Morrow, on behalf of his son Paul. Signs, miracles and wonders are happening to them.

I praise God for your desire to worship and serve Him. God's desire is for you to be healed!
